Apostles
".. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;…"

Ephesians 2:20 (KJV)

Apostles are the ones that supervise the careful observance of the Architect's Design for lay out and  construction of Foundational Forms.   Once the forms are firmly attached to each other and well established upon The Rock, they will be ready to receive the liquid concrete of God's Word, which will make up the foundation for the Living Structure of God's dwelling place.

One could say that the forms make up a structured Path or Way for the concrete mix to flow. The next step is for the Prophets to...

Prophets

"... And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; …"

Ephesians 2:20 (KJV)

Prophets minister the Living Word of God by various ways and means.  When first issued, the Word of God is liquid and flows freely.  After it is poured into the Foundational Forms and allowed to cure,  the Liquid Word is TRANSFORMED by the POWER of God and becomes as hard as the Rock upon which it rests, thereby completing the Foundational Structure on which God's dwelling place may be built.  The next step is for the Evangelists to...

Evangelists

"And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,..."

Ephesians 4:11 (RSV)

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 1:16(KJV)

Evangelists are the ones who issue the call to order the supplies needed to begin construction of God's dwelling place.  These supplies consist of a variety of building materials such as murderers, adulterers, slanderers, fornicators and other sinners, orphans, widows, the weak, the lame, the infirm, the poor, the brokenhearted, the destitute, the lonely, and any who will hear The Call.

The next step is for the Pastors and Teachers to...

Pastors and Teachers

"And his gifts were that some should be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers,..."

The Holy Bible

Ephesians 4:11 (RSV)

Pastors and Teachers work together as a team.  Preaching and teaching the Truth in Love according to the Architect's Design, they are the construction crew that takes the building materials gathered by the Evangelist and constructs the house from start to finish.  Once the house is completed, they install and arrange interior decorations. They identify maintenance and cleaning chores and provide specific operating instructions.  If additional foundation was laid during original construction to provide for remodel or expansion, they are responsible for the add-on and remodel work.

Most importantly they implement safety and security protocol and procedures given to them by the Owner. Once this is finished, the Owner is ready to move in and take up Residence.  The house becomes The Body of Christ and the Home where the Holy Spirit can dwell. The next step is for the Body of Christ to...

The Body of Christ

"Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it."

I Corinthians 12:27 (RSV)

The Body of Christ functions in the world to reveal the Kingdom of Heaven.  As it is written…

"... but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.  And preach as you go, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.' Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying, give without pay.

Matthew 10:6-8 (RSV)

Again it is written:

"... But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you."

Matthew 12:28 (KJV)

And again,

And he said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation."

Mark 16:15 (RSV)

Once more,

"For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit; he who thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.

Romans 14:17-18 (RSV)
